Middlesbrough is once again set to become a truly animated town, when Teesside University hosts Animex, the annual international festival of animation and computer games, from Monday 8 February to Friday 12 February.
Animex is now entering its second decade, bringing artists, designers, directors, producers, professionals together from around the world to share in five-days' worth of events, incorporating a vast range of activities.
Chris Williams, Animex Director since the festival's launch in 2000, pictured, said: "Following on from our tenth anniversary in 2009 it's exciting to be organising our eleventh festival as the University of the Year. It is also fitting that this accolade is underpinned at Animex with another amazing line up of speakers that wouldn't be out of place at any festival or conference anywhere in the world."
Below find some of the program highlights.
The following are sold out: Animex Talk, Animex Game, Festival Pass, Gold Pass and Ken Wong's workshop. Tickets are still available for other events, including Animex Business, other workshops, as well as networking events Players' Lounge and Animex Lounge. For more details go to the web at www.animex.net, email info@animex.net or call 01642 342653.
We are delighted to showcase these videos highlighting what a great place Middlesbrough is to live and study and be involved in digital and animation industries.
My Favourite Place videos were created in Animex Take Two workshops set up and run by Gazillion Productions Ltd, Animex International Animation Festival, Teesside University and Middlesbrough Extended Schools.
The animations produced in the workshops are based on the student's favourite place in Middlesbrough ranging from Akbar's restaurant to Stewart Park from Cineworld to mima.
