A new independent delicatessen has opened in Middlesbrough’s burgeoning Corner Emporium.
Pimm’s Deli is the exciting new business of South African born chef Matthew Pimm who aims to offer an extensive range of delicatessen products to the local area.
Matthew has lived and worked on three continents as a chef over the last 20 years, and is eager to share his passion for international cuisine with the people of Middlesbrough.
The deli will stock an array of Spanish, French and Italian artisan products, such as chorizo, paella rice, terrines and truffles, as well as breads, hampers and cooking kits.
Matthew said: “When I arrived in Middlesbrough I immediately noticed a gap in the market for a well run and extensive delicatessen.
“I have wanted to own and run my own deli for as long as I can remember, so I’m delighted to at last be able to open one in the heart of the town centre.”

Another couple of units are also due to become available over the next couple of weeks, giving would-be entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to test-trade their business idea within the Corner Emporium.
The initiative gives fledgling businesses a chance to get up and running, with low-cost retail space in a prime town centre at one of the main entrances to the busy Cleveland Centre.
It’s an invaluable opportunity for successful applicants to market test their enterprise and benefit from a business-coaching package to assist with development and growth.
