Type: Exhibition

mima sound space presents an extract from a new online audio project by Irish artist Garrett Phelan. At what point will common sense prevail looks at the mental processes of perception, memory, judgement, and reasoning and how they operate in conversation. Described by the artist as ‘regurgitated monologues’, 26 participants read from unfamiliar scripts, which pass through them creating dry, unemotional, monotone voices. Commissioned by the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, the project will be presented over a 5-year period at www.atwhatpointwillcommonsenseprevail.com.
