The Designers Marketplace is a travelling market showcasing some of the best creative talent in the UK. The event provides a platform where both emerging and established designers and artists have a chance to promote and sell their work directly to the public. Through a series of mini-boutique like stall spaces.

Lucy Bennett, designer and owner of independent fashion label 'Roc & Doll' claims that in her experience, finding such an event outside of London is indeed a rarity.

It seems the Designers Marketplace really is making quite a stir not only in the North East as artists and designers are now travelling from as far away as Edinburgh and London, keen to become a part of this ever expanding event.

Lucy Leaver, a bag designer living in London but originally from Redcar, felt so strongly about an event like this taking place in the North-East she has now become a regular vendor at the markets "I have stockists in London boutiques but have been eager to extend this, becoming a part of the market has enabled me to establish and develop points of contact for the North-East area."

The next market will be taking place on Sunday 29  November at Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt. Entry is free, and doors open at 10.30am to press and trade, and from 11am to 4.30pm to the public. The first 30 minutes of the event acts as a trade show, encouraging businesses, shop owners and press to come down and view the fully stocked showcase of products.

On sale will be a diverse collection of quality bespoke merchandise such as fashion garments, accessories, art, graphics, illustration, jewellery, textiles, photography, ceramics, and interior products. A live DJ playing music all day and the occasional food stall, the market offers a great day out to all sexes and ages alike.
