Dynamic dragon-riding damsels helped create a festive atmosphere. Middlesbrough's own Roller Derby Team, the Milk City Rollers were skating around. Living Mannequins were very impressive. Face Painting was enjoyed by all ages.
Northern Sinfonia were on at Middlesbrough Town Hall, West Side Story was on at Middlesbrough Theatre, Local band 21 Reasons were on at the Princess Alice.
Art lovers were spoiled for choice. The Cluster Group hosted a viewing of their show "Threshholds" at the Dorman Museum.
mima featured JIGGERS, the alter-egos of NYC-based artists Nathan Carter and Matthew Ronay who put on a one-night installation and performance using found materials.
An exhibition of photography by Leigh Rebecca opened at Gallery TS1.
Platform Arts Studios was open to visitors between 6pm and 8pm.This was an opportunity to see the recently launched working artists' studios housed in the old British Rail Parcel Store and Fish Quay at the Grade II Listed Middlesbrough Railway Station.

A Continental Market was held in the pedestrianised area between Debenhams, House of Fraser and BHS. The continental market featured a variety of stalls from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Holland and Portugal.
Market traders sold top quality products ranging from food and drink, to a variety of continental products including leather items, Marseilles soaps and children’s toys. The market was also open on Friday 24th & Saturday 25th 9am to 5pm.
