The Hairy Bikers’ Big Night Out
TV’s favourite foodies set for Boro Town Hall
TV’s favourite foodies The Hairy Bikers are heading to Middlesbrough Town Hall for what looks set to be a fantastic night of inspirational cooking, tall tales and massive belly laughs on Wednesday 16 June.
Simon King and David Myers are the stars of BBC2’s smash hit programmes ‘The Hairy Bikers Cookbook’, ‘The Hairy Bikers Ride Again’, ‘The Hairy Bikers Come Home’ and ‘The Hairy Bakers’, which was watched by more than four million viewers when it aired in 2008.
The lifelong food lovers have been delighting viewers around the country with their unique expeditions across the globe in search of authentic food and new cultural experiences.
Their love for exotic cuisine has taken them across many countries including Southern India, Turkey, Argentina, Romania and Mexico to name just a few.
Now, they’re staying a little closer to home for what is proving to be a hugely successful first national tour.
The show itself is not only about cooking but is packed full of different creative and narrative threads about the boys, their adventures and personal experiences, right from the very start of their lives and up to their current success.
As well as getting the chance to view their previously unseen TV screen test for The Hairy Bikers show, the packed and fast paced live show offers the usual excitement, social commentary, anthropology and quirkiness that fans of The Hairy Bikers have come to expect - with some great surprises thrown in for good measure.
Audience members will have plenty of chances to participate in the evening’s entertainment - and will get the opportunity to see the culinary masters at work as they rustle up a three-course meal in just 15 minutes.
Whilst cooking is their first love, both the boys have had success out of the kitchen. Dave won BBC’s Celebrity Mastermind, and Simon took an admirable second place in BBC2’s The Weakest Link.
2009 was another packed and successful year for The Hairy Bikers, with the giant 30 part series ‘The Hairy Bikers’ Food Tour of Britain’ and a Christmas Special airing on BBC2 - with new series ‘Mum Knows Best’ already proving a big hit this year too.
Now; it’s bikes and pans at the ready for what looks set to be another great night at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
