Distinguished for his abstract style of pure colour and form, Ellsworth Kelly has occupied the centre stage of modernism for more than half a century. He pioneered an abstract aesthetic that has been vital to the evolution of post-war American art.
For his exhibition at mima the artist, now in his 86th year has made a unique selection of works dated between 1954 and 1962, which will be shown together for the first time.

Take the A19, turn off onto the A66 and follow the signs for the town centre. Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and York are under an hour away - Leeds is a little further. There are plenty of car parks within five minutes walk of mima.
