Northern Sinfonia

Northern Sinfonia are joined by Music Director, Thomas Zehetmair for a concert of Italian influence. Bach’s vibrant Brandenburg Concertos No’s 1 and 4 are matched with Stravinsky’s Concerto in D, all taking different ideas from the Italian Concerti Grosso and placing them in their own context. Mendelssohn finishes the programme with his impressions of the people, nature and art of Italy with his popular Symphony No. 4
