Exhibitions on until the 15th of November are Gerhard Richter: Modern Times, Giovanni Corvaja: Alchemia, Manners of the Present: works from mima collection, and Morton Feldman: For Philip Guston.

16 November - 26 November 2009 galleries are closed as exhibitions are changing over. Shop and café Prego will be open as normal.

11 December 2009 - 21 February 2010 - Ellsworth Kelly: Drawings 1954-1962

Christmas Art Trolley events are happening on 15 November and 13 December at 1.00-3.00pm and also 17 December 4.30-6.30pm.

Christmas in the Eighteenth Century - 5 December - 3 January

Christmas at the Cook - 21 and 22 December - 12noon until 4.00pm - The Museum team will be on hand throughout the day providing a variety of craft events (FREE). Santa will be in Cook's Cottage with gifts for everyone (£2).

Festive pleasures in the Age of Elegance. Inspired by the life and writings of Jane Austen, with details of delicious food, original party games, Regency Christmas gifts and a thrilling ghost story!

What a very merry topic. All the joys of Christmas with the delights of Regency amusements thrown in for good measure. The Austen family certainly knew how to have fun in the festive season. They left many details about games, gifts and general jollification in their letters, diaries and novels. Modern–day audiences love the fact that there is nothing overly commercial about a Georgian Christmas... just pure delight in family and fireside comforts.

'Jane Austen's Christmas' is a one–hour solo–talk

Christmas Crafts -  2, 9, and 16 December at 2.00pm - Make cards, gift boxes and Christmas Candle Holders.

Gift Fair - 5 December from 10.00am - 4.00pm - There will be craft stalls selling jewellery, perfumes and unusual handmade Christmas presents.

Father Christmas - 12 December - Father Christmas will be visiting for children to come and see. There will be a small charge.

Performance and mince pies - 21 December at 10.30 am - A coffee morning with mince pies will be held with performances from students from the Stars & Topline Community Arts Project.

Family Craft Weekend - 19-20 December - drop in sessions from 12noon - 4.00pm. Enjoy a Christmas weekend of glittery crafts for all the family (FREE). There's a chance to meet Santa and receive a present (£1.50).

Traffic restrictions

Traffic restrictions will be in place for the Reindeer Parade on 15 Nov, Sarruga Fish on 26 Nov, and the Lantern Parade on 13 Dec. Take this into consideration when you plan your journey.

Parking during the Winter Festival 2009

During the Middlesbrough Winter Festival there is free parking on Thursdays after 4pm in The Mall and Council car parks only.

Parking all day Saturday in the Zetland car park will be £1.50.

There is always free parking for the disabled

The Council allows free parking without time limits in all its pay and display car parks for disabled badge holders. This provision applies to all spaces in all types of car parks (long, short and limited-stay) and not just in dedicated disabled bays.
