Teesside Hospice in association with Middlesbrough Council is holding its first Santa Run on Sunday 6 th December around Centre Square in Middlesbrough.
The 3k sponsored fun run will see Santa’s competing on a course circling Centre Square in Middlesbrough. There will be a warm up before hand which will include Santa style exercises, including jumping of the sledge, climbing down the chimney and sack throwing!
All participating Santa’s are asked to pay a £10 registration fee which entitles them to a Santa Suit, mince pie and hot drink and to raise sponsorship for Teesside Hospice. The race is open to Santas 11 years old or over but children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
There will be a sackful of festive fun for spectators and the whole family starting from 10.30am with mince pie eating contests, children’s entertainers and festive music with the Santa Run starting at 11.30am.

Middlesbrough Healthy Towns is sponsoring this year’s Santa Run in a mission to help make Middlesbrough a healthier town. The campaign hopes to make a huge difference in local families’ lives across Middlesbrough by promoting healthy eating and exercise.
Teesside Hospice is also working in partnership with Middlesbrough Council to host the Santa Run. Dave Budd, Deputy Mayor, said: “We’re really pleased to be hosting Teesside Hospice’s first Santa Run around Centre Square in Middlesbrough. This will be a spectacular event which will bring families into the Town Centre at this very exciting time of year. We're proud to be working with such a worthwhile local charity which supports local people with life limiting illnesses.”
Teesside Hospice is hoping to attract more than 300 Santas to participate so if you fancy getting into the spirit and posing as Santa for this festive fun run you can register via www.teessidehospice.org or for further information about Teesside Hospice’s Santa Run please contact the Fundraising department on 01642 355866 or email fundraising@theteessidehospice.co.uk .
