The Isaac Wilson is the place to be. Brilliant for families during the day with a wide variety of great pub food on the menu, including plenty of special offers, and perfect for a well-priced drink in the evening.

This Wetherspoon pub and the street in which it stands are named after Isaac Wilson. He was a director of the Stockton-Darlington railway, which began the development of Middlesbrough as an industrial town. Wilson became Mayor of Middlesbrough in 1854, and was later elected as MP for the town in 1878, remaining in that role until stepping down in 1892.

Originally from Kendal in Cumbria, Wilson took over control of the Tees Engine Works, at the corner of Grey Street and Commercial Street. The firm pioneered engineering on Teesside, manufacturing locomotives and other products for the railways.
