Connect Tees Valley

From Monday, August 15 Middlesbrough bus station will be introducing a new charge for the toilet facilities, this will include a 20p charge for entry to use the facilities.

Middlesbrough Bus Station opened in 2002 and is the major transport hub within the Tees Valley providing local bus services to and from cities, town and villages around the Teesside area going as far afield as Scarborough, Darlington and Newcastle upon Tyne.

As well as local services the Bus Station also provides a dedicated coach lounge where National Express Coaches run regular coach services from Middlesbrough to London, as well as to Liverpool via Leeds and Manchester. Megabus also operates services to the capital, Leeds and Manchester, as well as services to Birmingham.

The bus station is located in the heart of the town centre and serves as a thoroughfare between two of the town’s major shopping areas – The Hillstreet shopping centre and Captain Cook Square and is in close proximity to the Cleveland Centre and Dundas Shopping.

In addition, the station itself houses 11 shop units, offices and public toilets including Middlesbrough’s first Changing Place facility.

The building receives in excess of 36,500 visitors a day and is open from 05:00am to 00:30am daily to accommodate the intercity coach services as well as 120 local buses per hour at peak times.
