Salvins barbers was founded in 1999 by Matthew Salvin at the grand old age of 18 after serving his apprenticeship. Matthew had a strong ambition to run his own barber shop which he did successfully for 12 years. Matthews modest start in business was temporarily interrupted when the indoor market where Matthew first set up business was bought out by a large company and was given 1 months notice to move out. This was only a small set back for the young entrepreneur. The potentially disastrous situation was turned into a positive as this inspired Salvin to look into bigger and better premises just off Captain Cooks square Middlesbrough.
